About Us McGowan Architecture, Allen Ibsen, DVM and Hein Engineering Group have teamed up to provide animal hospital / animal clinic design services. We are based in southern Wisconsin and as a team we are the Animal Hospital Design Group. With Dr. Ibsen's background and experience we are able to offer other practice consulting services, but for now we are focusing on design.
Allen G. Ibsen, D.V.M. : Allen graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1969. After working two years in a small animal hospital in Greendale, WI he started his own practice, New Berlin Animal Hospital Ltd. NBAH is now a four doctor small animal AAHA facility. Allen sold the practice, but continues to work there on a very limited basis. He and his wife have two daughters and both of them are married and each of them has two children-the light of their lives! The Ibsens have have lived in the same community for thirty five years. For the past ten years, Allen has enjoyed helping other veterinarians design and build their new facilities. This has been a very rewarding experience. www.dvmadvisor.com
Michael Hein PE, Engineer: Michael Hein PE, president of HEIN Engineering Group, has been involved in the design and construction supervision of over 150 animal hospital and animal holding facility projects over the last 20 years. The nature of the facilities has varied from small animal to large animal and mixed practices; both small and large in size, and new facilities to extensive existing building remodeling. Mr. Hein has assisted architects and owners through the decision making process of selecting mechanical and electrical concepts that meet their budgets and address the ongoing needs of proper ventilation for odor control, sanitation maintenance, sound control and energy efficiency. Mr. Hein has been a nationally recognized speaker at the Western States, Eastern States and Central States Veterinary Conferences, AAHA and Veterinary Economics Conferences on the topic of mechanical and electrical design for animal hospital and animal holding facilities.
